The 13U Black Easton Tigers were powered by Joey Kelley in their second place finish in the Gametime Fall Slugfest Tournament on Aug. 29-30. Kelley smashed all previous Easton Tigers tournament records by hitting 5 home runs in the weekend.
The Easton squad beat the Bandits in the tournament opener by a score of 10-1. Kelley had 4 RBI. Game two was an 11-0 combined no-hitter over the Rebels. In bracket play on Sunday, the Tigers claimed the lead in the third inning to defeat the O'Fallon Cardinals 11-1. In the championship game, Easton had a 4-1 lead with the winning run on third, but failed to score. They ended up tying the game and going into extra innings before falling to the Illinois Sun Devils by a score of 11-8.
Congrats to Michael Altobella who hit a grand slam, as well. Great job to all our Easton Tigers 13u Black players and coaches.
